2010 TXLA Lariat List of Adult Fiction

Lariat List LogoAt the recent Texas Library Association conference, the Lariat List, debuted.  The List features 25 notable adult fiction works published the previous year.  Keddy Outlaw, former branch librarian at West University Library, was a member of the committee.  The list is currently featured on Library Journal's blog In the Bookroom.  The main criteria for selection was that books be a "pleasure to read."  The list represents a wide variety of genres.

Internet Service Maintenance This Weekend

We will be doing system maintenance on our Internet connection this weekend beginning at 4 PM on Thursday, April 1 (no, this is not an April Fool’s Joke). This maintenance will provide a faster response time on our computers and improve performance at peak times.

What does this mean? Beginning Thursday, April 1 at 4 PM the following services will be unavailable:

New DVDs Newsletter

Our HCPL @ The Movies newsletter has been retired as of January. Now we bring you new newsletter which will highlight new DVDs in our collection. The newsletter will come out every month on the 22nd. Use this form to sign up by checking "New DVDs," entering your email address at the bottom, and clicking Submit.

Cy-Fair Closed Today, February 18

Cy-Fair is closed today, Thursday, Feburary 18, for the Lone Star College System Conference Day.  The library will reopen tomorrow for regular hours at 8 AM.
