Keep Your Fruit Toasty!

Apple CozyBrrr, it’s cold outside today!  Keep your fruit warm with its very own cozy!  One of our creative members of the Bear Creek Knitters whipped up an apple cozy to keep their fruit festive and from getting frostbite in the fridge.  Join our industrious knitting group every Thursday at 4:00 PM in our Magazine Area.

Tutu Fun Run!

On Saturday, October 13th several Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek Library staff took part in the Lady of Essence 5k Tutu Fun Run at Bear Creek Park.  All of our staff who participated completed the event!  Many members of the community (and their adorable, tutu-wearing dogs) took part.  All proceeds from the event went to the fight against obesity.

Patron Count Week

Patron Count Week is coming, and that means we need volunteers!  So what does that mean for you?

Patron Count Week is October 15-20th.  We need a volunteer to sit at a table in our lobby every hour the library is open to the public to count each man, woman, and child who enters.  Sound like a big job?  It’s not!  Anyone is welcome to help out.  In between counting, you can even catch up on the latest celebrity gossip with a magazine or keep your nose in your favorite book!

This special volunteer opportunity is the ONLY activity we do not require volunteers to attend volunteer orientation or have an application on file.  (However, if you would like your volunteer activities to count, you will need to fill out a Volunteer Application and attend a New Volunteer Orientation.)  If you are interested in helping with Patron Count, call the library at 281-550-0885 or stop by the Information Desk to sign up.
