The Week @ the Katy Library – December 14th Edition

Have you been tossing around the idea of going back to school?  On Friday, 12/18 at 4:00PM, a representative from the University of Phoenix will be here to talk with you about getting your degree online.

Plus, even with the holidays coming fast, we have our regular storytimes, knitting groups, Hispanic programs, and more.  Check out our calendar to find something that interests you!

The Week @ the Katy Library – December 7th Edition

Among our regular programs this week, we have our monthly Superación Personal for those of you who speak Spanish. Each month this group takes a topic and discusses all the aspects. This month’s topic is “Dare to Be Happy.” Come see what it’s all about on Wednesday, 12/09, at 6:00pm.

Birth Order

The Birth Order BookHave you ever read Dr. Kevin Leman’s The Birth Order Book? It came out originally in 1985, but a new updated version is out this year. Leman’s history counseling families for more than 30 years gives him a unique perspective into seeing how birth order affects everyday life. He looks at birth order in relation to other variables in the family, such as why a second child might end up acting like a firstborn. Interesting stuff.

The Week @ the Katy Library – November 30th Edition

Ok, we waited as long as we could. We didn’t put them up before Halloween. We almost didn’t put them up before Thanksgiving. But, now they’re here – the Christmas decorations are UP! And just in time for our holiday events.

First, we have the Friends of the Katy Library hosting the annual Poupourri Boutique on Thursday, December 3rd. Come by to shop for homemade Christmas gifts and buy a homemade lunch for $6.

Then, we have the Holiday Kickoff Party on Saturday, December 5th. We’ll have craft stations throughout the library all day as well as puzzles, gift ideas, and more. Then, from 1:00-3:00pm come see Santa, read to dogs, and enjoy some Carol-oke.
