For DummiesI’m a Dummie!  I love using the For Dummies series of books whenever I need to learn about a new topic.  I’ve also on occasion used the Idiot’s Guide series.  (I don’t believe you are what you read!)  But, when it comes to learning about computer-related topics, the choices are even greater. 

Construction Next Door

Have you noticed the construction going on next door to the Library?  We're getting a City of Katy courthouse.  Stop by and check out the other amenities in our area of Franz Road: police station, dog park, and the Mary Jo Peckham Park. 

The Week @ the Katy Library - August 10th Edition

Who let the dogs out?  ARF, ARF, ARF, ARF!  They're back, and they're ready to read!  PAWS for Reading is coming back to the Library on Wednesday, August 12th at 1PM.  Be sure to sign up to read to a dog!

Also on Wednesday is our monthly Superación Personal for Spanish-speaking people.  They meet to discuss a different topic each month.  August's topic is "Los Principios de Liderazgo".

Don't miss out on our regularly scheduled storytimes, our Thursday internet class, and our Wednesday Knitting & Crochet Club.

Julie & JuliaDo you like to read the book before the movie comes out?  Or do you see the movie & then the book?  I sometimes find I'm disappointed by the movie because the book is SO much better. 

The Week @ the Katy Library - August 3rd Edition

This is the last week of our Summer Reading Program! Last week to register and log in your reading. Last week for kids and teens to pick up your certificate and free book. Last week for adults to enter the drawing for Amazon.com gift cards. Don't miss out!!! Monday at 3pm is our final seminar in the Job Search series. The topic of this session is "Rebranding Your Skills". We're also having our monthly Club Hispano de Libros meeting on Wednesday at 6:15pm and our weekly internet tutoring on Thursday at 11am. For kids, we have our regular storytimes PLUS Mick Corley's Imagination Station Show on Wednesday at 2pm. Get your tickets on Tuesday - they've been running out of space each week this summer! Teens, you're not left out. Thursday at 2pm is the last party of the summer - the FUTURE PARTY! Wear something white and you'll glow in the dark! JOIN US!
