Keep Katy Beautiful is accepting donations of clean, gently used coats and sweaters from November 1 to December 15th. Items may be taken to City Hall (910 Avenue C), the Katy Fire Department (1417 Avenue D), or the Parks Office (5718 Second Street).

Saturday, 10/27 - put it on your calendar! We'll be celebrating the 2012 Gulf Coast Read book, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, in another way: a showing of the movie at 11:00am followed by a ScrabbleFest at 1:30pm. Stop in for one or both.

Keep Katy Beautiful is celebrating the advent of curbside recycling in Katy by bringing back Festivitrees for the 2012 Holiday Season. To participate, send in the entry form (no fee) and proudly display a tree in your business made from recycled or reused products or materials. For more information, check the City of Katy website.

I'm reorganizing my diet after reading The Happiness Diet by Tyler Graham and Drew Ramsey. I knew that eating things like sugar would make me peppy at first and crash me later, but I didn't realize how certain vitamins and minerals can affect the actual workings of my brain.
