Hey, Art Explorers!

Little Zumba in the Children’s Department!

  Thursday night, September 19th at 6:30 pm, come to the Children’s Department and let your children move, groove and dance to the beat of Latin music with Little Zumba!  This is a FREE and special event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month.  Children of all ages are invited and fun is guaranteed! Chess Anyone?

 Well, maybe not anyone, but, certainly children ages 8 – 12 with a basic knowledge of the game are invited to come to the Children’s Department for a friendly game [or two, or three] of Chess!  This non-competitive club meets every Wednesday from 5:00 – 6:00 pm in the Children’s Activity room.  All the chess boards are provided and fun is guaranteed!  Call the Library at 832-559-4235 for more information!

Art Explorers Around the World!

  On Monday, September 9th at 1:00 pm and Tuesday, September 10th at 4:30 pm, our artistic trek around the world begins in the United States!  Each month, children (grades *2nd  - 6th)  will “travel” to a fabulous country and learn about artists, art forms and create a one of a kind art project!  This month we’ll learn all about Quilling! This is a FREE program with all supplies provided!  Required registration will begin on Saturday, August 31st and is limited to 20 children for each session. Call the Library  at 832-559-4235 for more information or to register! *must turn 8 years old during the 2nd grade school year to particpate.
