Preschool Story Time: P is for Pizza!

Thursday is Free Play! August 30th

Toys riding in a toy car.This Thursday is Free Play! We are going to have different toys for various developmental ages 0-6 for your children to come and explore.  As a special treat this week Ms. Andleeb will be creating Hopscotch patterns on the floor of the meeting room along with the usual cast of characters. You can expect some building blocks, puppets, and the ever popular sand box, among other toys.  You are welcome to come in and play anytime from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

School? What school? Preschool Story Time:Tuesday @ 10:30

School Bus PictureTuesday, August 21 Ms. Andleeb will be reading some schoolish themed books and inviting you to make a craft with her after the stories are through.  If you haven’t joined us before make sure you pick up a ticket for Story Time at the information desk on the morning of.  This Story Time is geared for children 3- 6 years old.

Bubble Festival Thursday August 9 @ 10:30 AM

Cover of Bubble Festival book in the Harris County Public Library Catalog Boy Blowing BubblesOh who doesn’t like big fat juicy bubbles!  This Thursday, August 9 at 10:30 AM we are having a Bubble Festival at the Katherine Tyra Library.  We will set out materials to make different kinds of bubble wands with string, straw and pipe-cleaners.  There will also be different activities to try at several stations around the room.  Hope to see you there.

Jell-O Painting Infant Explorers!

Leovigilda with Jello Art WorkYesterday we had special guest Leovigilda Genova in our Infant Explores Program.  I had the privilege of showing Leovigilda the ins and outs of Jell-O painting.  We were all slipping and sliding around in abstract full sensory exploration art.  If you have never experienced this particular medium it is highly recommended.  The babies squished it in their fingers and toes.  Afterwards we all cleaned up to play with some infant toys and chase down some bubbles.  Thanks to Leovigilda for participating in our program today and to the happy children of the Katherine Tyra Library community for cutting loose and having fun.
