Need the Library on Sunday?

Our branch is open some of the longest hours in the County, but we are closed on Sundays. For your convenience our neighboring branch, the Barbara Bush at Cypress Creek branch will welcome you on Sundays from 1:00-5:00 p.m.

It’s located at 6817 Cypresswood Drive, just east of Stuebner Airline Road.

Y'all be sure to return to Tomball come Monday!

Smells like Teen Spirit

Explore the mysteries of adolescence.  One of our lobby displays this month highlights fiction and non-fiction about the various dragons that teens battle along their journey to adulthood. Oh, the angst...

Donna Hewett: Art Exhibitions at the Library

Tomball area artists, we offer you a place to exhibit your 2-dimensional art.

If you would like to reserve hanging space for a month in our large meeting room, Room L129, call the reference desk at 832-559-4213 or visit it for details and registration.

Our inaugural exhibitor is Donna Hewett. Donna is a graphic artist by trade and a member of the Tomball Art League. In her own time she works in oil and pastel. Her current exhibition is a combination of the two media.

You can see more of Donna's work at the Tomball Art League's annual fall exhibition Saturday, October 9th at the Tomball Community Center.

New Mural Celebrates Oil Town U.S.A.

As you walk through the front door of the library you’ll be greeted by this dynamic collage of historic photographic images of Tomball. The images come from the library’s Esther Bubley Photo Collection, a four-volume collection of black and white photographs of the people and industry of Tomball in 1945.

Bubley (1921-1998) was a gifted American freelance photojournalist who specialized in expressive photos of ordinary people in their everyday lives.

We're Expecting New Neighbors!

You may have wondered about the construction beside our front door. Lone Star College Tomball is building a new Performing and Fine Arts Building; a 30,000 square foot, two-level, multi-purpose instructional facility for training in theater and theatrical production. It will include a 425 seat theater and stage.

The Performing and Fine Arts Building is but one of three buildings LSC Tomball is building this year. The second is a new Veterinary Technology building going up on the far west side of campus. The third is a new Health Sciences Building for training nurses, adjacent to Tomball Hospital along Business Route 249.

Here is a link to an updated photo gallery of construction progress.
