When she was a little girl, her grandfather would take her on Sunday outings to a particular park in Mexico City where artists showed and sold their artwork. As she delighted in all styles and genres of paintings in el parque del arte she promised herself that when she grew up she would become an artist .

College aspirants: you can take the free Practice SAT Test here at the library.

The TEST will happen Saturday, July 23rd from 10:15 am to 2:15 pm in room L-129.

The SCORE ANALYSIS will happen Wednesday, July 27th from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in room L-129.

Pre-registration is required, either at a Reference desk, or by calling 832-559-4213.

 I love thrillers--they're easy, undemanding, page-turning, satisfying reading after a long day. But occasionally I need a change. This year I've challenged myself to include some different genres, some I've been reluctant to read. To my surprise I've encountered delightful books and discovered that, what I really want in a story is not just one type of plot, but rather, something entertaining that's well written.

Many thanks to our Inspirational Fiction readers for your patience through our changes. Early this year, budget slashes and staff cuts necessitated changes to the way we shelve our collection. The Inspirational Fiction books had to be integrated into the rest of the Fiction department. We know you experience this as a loss and we hope that the Inspirational Fiction display pyramid in the main corridor is helping you find your favorite authors and titles.
