Patron Count Week

Are you looking for something to do during spring break?  The Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library needs volunteers to do patron count week.  This means you sit at a table and count the customers that enter the library.   Please contact Cindy at 281-821-1320 if you are available to help us count the customers of the library.   The week of March 14th through the 20th are the days we will need the help.  The hours we need are only the hours we are open to the public.  Please consider helping us count at the library.

Outreach Programs. What are they?

Money a problem for you?  Don't know where to get your next program for your school, day-care or senior center?  Come by or contact the library at 281-821-1320 and talk to your library staff at Baldwin Boettcher.  We will try to accommodate your outreach needs.  Ms Nancy is already visiting day care centers close to the library.  Does your local school need a puppet show, science program or some type of show to demonstrate a lesson to your class?  Does your local senior group need a musical presentation, movie, book talk or other type of program presented to them at a meeting or their main meeting area?  Please think of the library as the place to provide you this program.  So the first step would be to call or contact the library and then we will arrange for the necessary program to be presented at your location.

Pardon our Dust!

Baldwin Boettcher has put their adult non-fiction into one collection.  This has worked out so well that we are on the move again.  This time we are putting some of the pulled out fiction collection, such as romance, science fiction, and classics, into our regular fiction collection.  They will still be stickered with the collection of romance, classics and science fiction but you will find all the MacComber books in one spot.  Your search will all be in fiction instead of Romance and fiction books.  Give us a little time or come in and see the effort that goes into moving all these books.  We hope this will make coming to the library a more pleasant experience.  Come in and enjoy one of our many programs and check us out.

Tall Tale Cinema with a twist

Time for Tall Tale Cinema but with a twist.  February is Black History Month.  So for February we will be showing a short film about  John Henry.  After the film we will explore some Jazz books and listen to some music.  Come enjoy the smooth jazz and learn about some famous jazz players.

Cooking for Teens

Looking for something to do on your Saturday off!  Bored, need something to eat?  Come to the Teen Cooking Program with Ms Susan.  Learn the tips, recipe and create your individual Pineapple Up-side Down Cake in honor of Black History Month.  Space is limited so it will be a ticketed program.  Pick up your ticket one-half hour before the cooking begins at 2 pm on February 13th.
