An Inspiration

I recently took time to see a movie that my fifteen-year-old son recommended. Considering football is his sport of choice I was not surprised that this movie is centered on football. After seeing the film that is based on true events I could not help but to share this with you in hopes that you too will see it.

THE EXPRESS, THE ERNIE DAVIS STORY- is an inspiring and thought provoking film based on overcoming the  prejudices of the early 1960’s. Ernie Davis becomes the first African-American to win college football’s greatest tribute, the Heisman Trophy.

To be, or not to be: that is the question.

Being an avid reader I usually enjoy reading a book first and then seeing the movie.  I say usually because every once in a while it happens in reverse. I will see a great movie and run right out and pick up a copy of that book.
I enjoy seeing how both the author and the director make the characters come alive.

It is getting close to that time of year when High School Seniors will be graduating and making life decisions concerning what career choices to make.  My son finds himself in this particular situtation.  He is not quite sure of what his next step should be so I find myself encouraging him with this oldie but a goody,  "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again". Perseverance is defined as a steady course of action in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
