Llama Llama and His Mama

llama llama home with mamaMother’s Day is coming up this Sunday, May 12th. There are so many wonderful picture books that depict a mother and child relationship.  Some of my favorite books about that special bond are the Llama Llama series by Anna Dewdney.  Little Llama Llama is just like any other kid.  Sometimes he gets scared at night, or throws a tantrum at the store, or he just doesn’t feel very well.   Lucky for him, he always has his Mama around to love him no matter what.  Toddlers and preschoolers love these books and they are perfect for reading at night while cuddling with your own little llamas.

Terrific Trees

A tree is niceArbor Day is coming up on April 26th.  In Texas, Arbor Day is held on the last Friday in April, though the first Arbor Day was held on April 10, 1872 in Nebraska.  Arbor Day is a chance for us to reflect on the importance of trees and is often celebrated by planting new trees.
