North Channel closed for Christmas holiday

Have you got your books to read during the Christmas holiday?  If not, you better watch out, you better not cry, 'cause the North Channel Library will be closed for Christmas starting at 5 pm on Wednesday, December 22nd and will not open again until Monday, December 27th at 1 pm.  Don't forget to find some great books to read in front of the crackling fireplace.  And for you lucky readers who will be getting an e-reader, ipad, or mp3 player from Santa, you can check out books 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through our digital media catalog.

First Time Home Buyer Seminar

Are you thinking about buying a house for the first time.  Unsure of what the steps are?  Confused by real estate jargon?  Want an insider's guide to finding and buying a great deal?  Then you don't want to miss the First Time Home Buyer Seminar at the North Channel Library on Wednesday, November 3rd from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  A representative from Johnson Real Estate Executives will present an overview of the home buying process and talk about the benefits of home ownership.  Hope to see all you future homeowners there!

Early Voting is coming!

  It's time for early voting!  Once again, North Channel Library will serve as an Early Voting location.  If you chose to wait until Election Day to vote, you will need to go to your Precinct Polling Location.  To vote during Early Voting, please bring your voter's registration card, driver's license, or an other acceptable form of identification listed on the Harris Votes website.  Early voting hours are as follows: 

 Monday, October 18th-Friday,October 22nd: 8 am - 4:30 pm

Saturday, October 23rd: 7 am - 7 pm

Sunday, October 24th: 1 pm - 6 pm

Monday, October 25th-29th: 7 am - 7 pm

Children's Books 1/2 off at Friends Book Sale

Do you love to fill your house with books?  The Friends of the North Channel Library is holding its monthly Book Sale this weekend from Friday, October 1st through Monday, October 4th.  This month all children's books will be priced 1/2 off.  So come and pick up some books for your kids, your neighbor's kids, your nieces & nephews or any other child you know who loves to read!
