It's Back to School Time

Hey parents, the start of school is right around the corner.  But don't worry, the North Channel Branch Library has resources to help you and your kids get ready.   Check out our display of school related books, including titles on  how to help your child academically and emotionally.  And don't forget about us during the school year.  We have all kinds of resources to help your kids with their school projects, including great online databases.

Support the library AND the environment

Now you can support the environment and the North Channel Branch Library all at the same time!

 Go Green Bags

The North Channel Library Friends Group has begun selling reusable Go Green bags.  The bags come in a variety of colors, including blue, green, and red, and are stamped with the Harris County Library logo.  These bags are great for taking home a stack of books from the library, carrying your purchases from the grocery store, or just carrying around town.    All funds raised from the bags go directly to support the North Channel Branch.  Bags are available for purchase at the Customer Service Desk.  Come and check them out!

Don't Miss Out On These Great Summer Reading Programs!

The 2009 Summer Reading Program may be nearing the end, but the North Channel Branch Library is still offering lots of fun programming for children and teens.  Kids, joins us next week for Movie Monday on July 27 and Ronald McDonald on Wednesday, July 29.  And teens, check out our Trash or Treasure craft program on Tuesday, July 28 and our Retro Cinema movie day on Thursday, July 30.  We will be watching your pick to highlight movies from the 2000s.

Preserve Your Memories

Buried under a mountain of photos? The North Channel Scrapbooking Group meets every month to craft and share ideas together. All you need to bring are your materials and creativity!
