New Storytime Schedule Starting In September

Each week, the Atascocita Branch Library, provides seven age appropriate storytime programs for families in our community.  As many of you know, the toddler storytime sessions have become extremely popular, and this has been especially true for the morning toddler session. Therefore, starting in September, we are making a few small changes to our program schedule. We hope that these changes will be positive ones for the community, and we look forward to seeing more of our friends.

A Special Place for Children

We would like to recognize the students and teachers at, Humble Independent School District and Primrose School of Lake Houston,  for their ongoing contributions of artwork which is displayed in the Children’s Area. These creative works help build an environment that is welcoming for those who visit the library. It is partnerships such as this that make the Atascocita Branch Library a special place for families. Thank you!

Let the Fun Continue!

I want to thank everyone who has participated in our reading program this summer.  It has been so wonderful to see all of our friends and to assist you with finding books. However, the fun doesn't stop there because we have great programs for children of all ages throughout the year.

Summer Reading Program Grand Finale For Children and Their Families

A great time will be had by all, but please be aware that the library will be noisier than normal.

The children in our community have worked really hard to complete their summer reading goals. As a celebration of their accomplishments we will be having a special program this afternoon. To ensure that everyone may participate; the program will be held in the children's department and tickets are not needed.

End of Summer Celebrations! Free Family Fun for All Ages.

Get Ready To Celebrate!

As part of the end of summer celebrations we have scheduled two extremely fun special programs for families. Tickets are not required for these events and they are open to people of all ages. So, we expect to see all of our friends there. A great time will be had by all, but please be aware that the library will be noisier than normal.

August 3rd is National Watermelon Day!

Every year on August 3rd it is National Watermelon day. So, I thought that it would be fitting to tell you some juicy facts about watermelons and also share a few fun books.

JUICY FACTS

Do you know, that in Japan they grow square watermelons? Why? Round watermelons take up a lot of room in a refrigerator and they are also more difficult to cut into slices. Seems like a very logical and creative solution. That being said, MSN news recently reported the that square watermelon sold for $856. What??? I think that I'll stick with the round ones for now.
