Friday, June 27, 8 am--10 pm is Library Day at Whole Foods Market at 10133 Louetta Road, located near SH 249.

The Barbara Bush Library Friends have been selected to participate in the Market's Grand Opening and will receive 1% of the proceeds from the store's sales on this day.

Teen Summer Writing Contest 2014

Girl writingFor the last four years, Barbara Bush Branch Library and LSC-Tomball Community Library have co-hosted a summer writing contest for teens that includes both poetry and short story sections. We've gotten some wonderful entries each year and have had close to 100 entries for the last several years.

Come an enjoy a classic film from 1941 starring Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda.

“A conniving father and daughter meet up with the heir to a brewery fortune-- a wealthy but naive snake enthusiast-- and attempt to bamboozle him at a cruise ship card table.” The 2014 the Senior Classic Movies will be held on the first and third Fridays of the month at 10:00 through the summer. Bring a friend.

Whether you want to get started researching your family history, or you are already hard at work but stuck on a tough problem, the Genealogy Special Interest Group (SIG) of the 1960 PC Users Group will be here to help you.

The members will be in the Barbara Bush Library Friends Computer Lab on Saturday, May 3 from 10:00-1:00. Come and learn about your heritage.

There is also be information about the other Special Interest Groups of the 1960 PC Users Group available in the library during May.
