Whether you want to get started researching your family history, or you are already hard at work but stuck on a tough problem, the Genealogy Special Interest Group (SIG) of the 1960 PC Users Group will be here to help you.

The members will be in the Barbara Bush Library Friends Computer Lab on Saturday, May 3 from 10:00-1:00. Come and learn about your heritage.

There is also be information about the other Special Interest Groups of the 1960 PC Users Group available in the library during May.

Ongoing Computer Classes at the Barbara Bush Branch Library

Dave Smith, computer instructor, will be teaching seven different computer classes at the Barbara Bush Branch Library in March 2014. The classes are Computer Basics, Introduction to the Internet, Email, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Publisher.
He also teaches three additional classes which are offered at various times throughout the year. These are Social Media, the Kindle, and Digital Photography. Please call for the dates and times of the classes and to register.
Each class meets for a single 2-hour session. As class size is limited to 12 people, pre-registration is required for each class. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration opens 30 days prior the class.

Senior Classic Movie Morning

Come and watch a movie from the "good old days". 
March 14 - Movie from 1939 starring James Stewart and Marlena Dietrich
Due to licensing restrictions we are not able to promote the title of the movies. Call 281-376-4610 for the title. Bring a friend and enjoy a classic film. Senior Classic Movies are held twice a month, dates will vary with room availability. Please call the library for movie dates and titles. Genealogy Database Demo

Climbing your family tree to do some family history research? Need to consult the U.S. Census? Come and learn how to use HeritageQuest and Ancestry.com at our Genealogy Research Database Demo on Friday, March 7 @ 11:00 AM in the Barbara Bush Library Friends Computer Lab.
These classes are popular so registration is required. You can register by going online to www.hcpl.net or by calling the library at 281-376-4610.  The address is 6817 Cypresswood Drive in Spring. We are now offering Genealogical Research monthly. The date varies. Registration for each class opens 30 days prior to the class. Please call for the schedule. Yoga for Stress Relief

Certified yoga instructor, Linda Popinksi, offers this free class every Thursday from 12:00-1:00 in the Earl Elliott Room at the Barbara Bush Branch Library, 6817 Cypresswood Drive in Spring. Both men and women are welcome. Bring your own yoga mat and a beach towel.
