Jeff Forster---Ceramic Artist from Lone Star College

Jeff Forster, artist in residence and ceramics instructor at Lone Star College-North Harris, will have a ceramics exhibit at the Barbara Bush Branch Library in November.  A native of Minnesota, Forster now lives in Kingwood. He turned to ceramics as an undergraduate and earned a master's degree in ceramics from Southern Illinois University.  His works can be found in the Lobby Display Case.

Art at the Library

Barbara Bush Library is pleased to present an exhibit of the works of Hispanic and Native American artists in October. The art exhibit is presented by the Garden of the Dragonfly Gallery.  So, next time you are at the library, come upstairs to the art alcove and enjoy.

Staff Ceramics on Display

The MFCeramics on DisplayAH exhibit continues at the Barbara Bush Branch through Display in lobby at Barbara Bush LibraryNovember 22nd. For the month of October our staff is telling their story through clay in the downstairs entry foyer display case, with special ceramic pieces from their personal collections. 

Art Alcove: Aviary Arias by Charlie Jean Sartwelle

 Charlie was born in Cameron, Texas, and graduated Alfred C. Glassell School of Art in ceramics and sculpture. She exhibited in numerous local and national exhibitions with interdisciplinary performances and installations. In 1984, Charlie Jean Sartwelle and John Runnels founded MotherDogStudios, as a response to the visual arts communities need to provide working studio/exhibition space for local and visiting artists. She was selected as a finalist of the METRO Solutions Public Arts Program in 2007. Charlie Jean lives in Houston.
