Senior Classic Movie Morning

On Friday, October 12, the Barbara Bush Branch Library will have another Senior Classic Movie Morning.  We will show a classic horror film from 1931 starting Bela Lugosi.  "The castle stands in the shadows of the Carpathian Mountains, a symbol of fear and suspicion to the villagers who live in the valley below.  Real estate agent Renfield (Dwight Frye) journeys to the castle to conclude a business transaction with its elusive owner.  Tension mounts as Renfield learns the truth about his mysterious host and succumbs to his will to become his mindless victim"

Senior Classic Movie Morning will be the 2nd Friday of each month.  The movie will start shortly after 10:00 am  and will usually end around noon.  Come with a friend or meet a new friend. 

Social Media and Pinterest for Business

This free workshop will show you how to turn social media sites like Pinterest, LinkedIn and Twitter into powerful tools.  It will cover the strategies and best practices needed to get the most out of your social media activities, including time management, measuring the return of your activities, and learning the essential elements of growing your business using the power of social media marketing 

Green Magazine Exchange Center

The Barbara Bush Branch Library has a place for your recent, but read magazines.  Bring in your old magazines to share with others.  Please bring only magazines published in 2011 or 2012.  Feel free to take as many as you bring in (or more).  The rack is at the top of the stairs on the 2nd floor of the library.  The library is at 6817 Cypresswood Drive in Spring.

Voulunteer ESL Tutor Training

The Barbara Bush Branch Library is seeking volunteer tutors to help non-English speaking adults to learn to read, write and speak English.  A free training workshop will take place at the library on Saturday, September 22 from 9:00 to 12:00 pm.

You need not speak another language nor have teaching experience.  At the workshop we will introduce you to teaching techniques and materials which will allow you to communicate with non-English speaking students.
