Walk Away the Pounds/Pierda Libras Caminando

Come join us our FREE 1 hour/4 mile walking exercise classes. The September 2013 class schedule is: Wednesdays at 10:30 am - 11:30 am  and  4:30 pm - 5:30 pm and also on Thursdays at 10:30 am -11:30 am. Friends of the Library- Book Sale

The Friends of the South Houston Public Library, a non-profit volunteer group will be hosting a big book sale starting Monday, July 15 ,2013 from 5- 8 pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 12- 5 pm and Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 10 am- 3pm.  There will be 100's of books from popular authors and best sellers available in hardback or paperback. Don't miss out on magazines, DVD or VHS movies. All items are priced to go at a bargain.  Come out and support your local library.

Duck Tape Flower Craft

 

Duck Tape can be used for many things around the house but have you ever used it to make a tulip decorated flower pen?  Join us on Monday, July 8, 2013, from 1:30-2:30 pm and learn to make one. It's a fun and easy craft. All materials will be provided. Adults Only.

 

Summer Is Here!

Summer is here and with it also the start of HCPL's Summer Reading Program.  The program runs from Monday, June 3 through Saturday, August 10.  The program is open to readers and listeners of all ages.

Soda Bottle Flowers

Join us on Monday, May 20, 2013 @ 1:30 pm in celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and paint a cherry blossom tree on a canvas using paint and soda bottles.  All materials will be provided by the Friends of the South Houston Library.

Pick up your IRS Tax Forms!

 We are less than a month away from the IRS deadline to file your 2012 income tax.  The deadline is set for Monday, April 15, 2013.  If you have not filed your income tax yet and need a form/instruction booklet etc.  come by our branch and pick it up.  Please visit our home page for our business hours.
