Toddler Time Is Moving to Tuesdays

DrawingDue to the change in library hours, Toddler Time will be moved to Tuesdays at 11:30 AM starting April 5th. Preschool Story Time will remain on Tuesdays at 10:30 AM and Baby Book Time will remain on Wednesdays at 2:00 PM. As always, tickets will be given out 30 minutes in advance for these programs.

Shakin' the Money Tree - Job Search Seminars Starting Soon!

Money TreeWorkForce Solutions is coming to the library! Get all your job search questions answered. Have you resume evaluated, learn interviewing skills, and stay informed of new employment trends and employer expectations. Sessions will be conducted by Carolyn Kennard, expert in the field of employment counseling and job retention. So, get ahead of the curve and spend time honing those job search skills. No need to register, just come to the library's Adult Reading Area on any Tuesday from March 29th - April 26th at 10:30AM. Free materials will be distributed for class attendees.

April is National Poetry Month. How will you celebrate?

Paper BeadsApril is National Poetry Month! Join us for our adult craft in celebration of words, language and self expression! We will be making paper beaded jewelry out of poems on Tuesday, April 5th at 10:00AM. Arrange the words on your necklace and wear your own poetic creation. Also, bring your favorite poem to share or check out poetry books to read aloud with your family and friends. Adult crafts are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM.

C-SPAN Book TV to Visit Northwest Library!

BusC-SPAN will be rolling up to the Northwest Branch Library THIS Saturday, February 12th at 10:00 AM. They will be here for a short time and plan to leave by 11:30 AM. Don't miss your chance to visit this mobile BookTV studio! Learn about how BookTV is filmed. Sit in the BookTV interview chairs and learn how to film your own Book TV session! The Book TV Bus vignettes are available online. Be sure to check out a few before the bus arrives. Get on the bus and you won't to be left out in the cold. (brrrrrr...)

Buggy for Books Corner

Ninja Praying MantisDid you enjoy the ant farms in the display area by the Reference Desk? What about the lady bugs larve? Well... guess what! We have Praying Mantises on the way! They will be hatching in 3-6 weeks. While we have to wait for the weather to warm a bit for them to come out and play, they will sure be an interesect-ing sight.
