MOMMY KNITTING GROUP

Don't have a babysitter, but you enjoy knitting and crocheting?  Or, would you like to learn how?  The Katy Branch Library has the group for you!  Every Thursday afternoon at 2:00 meet for an hour of knitting, crocheting, and chatting.  Children are welcome!

HATS! HATS! HATS!

Wear your favorite hat to storytime this week as we read stories about the different hats people wear.  See you on Tuesday at 10:30 for Toddlertime or Thursday at 10:30 for Preschool storytime.

BE THE STAR OF YOUR OWN MOVIE!

Participate in the 2010 National StoryTubes contest by creating a movie telling about a favorite book.  The contest is open for kids in grades K-12.  Movies will be posted and judged online.  Harris county Library is one of the partner libraries for the contest, so you may find information at the Katy Branch Library or the StoryTubes website.

Santa Pictures

Santa was here, and we took some awesome pictures of Santa visiting with our young library customers.  These pictures are now available on flickr.  Check them out and see how much fun we had!  We will have Baby Bounce, Bilingual Storytime, and Toddlertime next week as usual.

SANTA WAS HERE!

Santa visited the Katy Branch Library Saturday, December 5, and children were eager to talk to him.  Join us for Christmas Storytimes the month of December.

Ho! Ho! Ho! PAWS @ THE LIBRARY & SANTA TOO!

Visit Santa at the Katy Branch Library on Saturday, December 5 from 1:00 to 2:00 at our holiday celebration.  Then stop by to greet the Reading Education Assistance Dogs.  No need to register to see Santa, but please register to read to one of the dogs by stopping by the Reference desk or calling 281-391-3509.  See you there!

A TIME TO GIVE THANKS

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all the good things in life that we are thankful for.  At the Katy Branch Library, we have created a Thankful Wall.  Children may draw or write a picture of what they appreciate in their lives to display on our wall.

PAWS @ THE LIBRARY

Stop by the Katy Branch Library on Saturday, November 14 from 10:00 to 12:00 and greet the Reading Education Assistance (R.E.A.D.) dogs.  These dogs are specially trained to listen to young children read, and are particularly helpful to beginning and struggling readers.  Their trainers will be on hand to answer questions about their program.

WHOO, WHOO, WHOO'S AT THE LIBRARY?

Owls that's Whooo!  Join us for storytimes the week of November 2 as we have a hoot reading owl stories.

SPOOKTACULAR STORYTIMES!

Black cats, pumpkins, and ghosts, oh my!  Join us for Halloween fun in our storytimes this month.
