DIY POP-UP CARDS

Tweens join us to make pop-up cards, just in time for Mother’s Day.  Wednesday, May 7, 3:30 to 4:30.  Ages 10 and up.

CELEBRATE ASIAN CULTURE

Join us as we celebrate Asian Pacific culture Saturday, May 3 at the Katy Branch Library.  Starting at 2:00 with a Kung Fu demonstration and a Tai Chi Presentation, followed at 3:00 with an Asian cooking demonstration.  Crafts will include Chinese Paint Brush, Chinese paper cutting and origami.  Fun for the entire family! 

LOST BUT NOT FOUND

Have you lost something? You may have dropped it at the library. Check with us to see if we have your phone, notebook, jacket, ring, etc in our lost & found. 

TWEENS CELEBRATE EARTH DAY

Celebrate Earth Day!   Create beautiful mosaic pictures using recycled magazine pages.
Wednesday, April 23, 3:30 to 4:30. This activity is for ages 10 and up.
 

NEW GARDEN CLUB

The Katy Library Gardening Club will meet on Thursday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m.  Our topic this month will be on raised garden beds.  There will also be a seed exchange, so bring your seeds to share and try some new ones.  The Garden Club will meet the second Thursday of each month.   

ACE THE SAT

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME

Our Preschool Story Time has grown too big! In order to accommodate the many parents and children who would like to attend our story hours we will begin offering two sessions on Thursdays.

The first session will begin at our normal time of 10:30 and run until 11:10. The second session will begin at 11:20 and run until 12:00.

If you come to our 10:30 story hour and we are already full, you may need to wait until our second session. Don’t worry, we will save lots of songs and stories for you!

1001 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN

A 1001 books before kindergarten?   It sounds like a lot of books, but if you read just 3 books a day, you’ll be done in almost a year. Easy!  This early literacy program is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten and encourage a love of reading.  Stop by the Katy Library for a special reading log, and ask us to help you pick out books your child will be sure to enjoy.    

PI DAY EXTRAVAGANZA!

Friday, March 14, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Come celebrate the most numerical of holidays in all of its unending and non-repeating glory. The Katy Branch Library hosts is first Pi Day Extravaganza with a Pi Reciting contest, Pie tastings, and Pi Poetry.
