Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?

Does anybody really care? Yes! I do! Because I’m a sucker for time travel stories. Have been since I was a kid. I like watching the time traveler cope with a land in which the familiar is suddenly unfamiliar. And maybe they learn a thing or two along the way.

 

 

Hispanic Heritage Month

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, I began thinking of some DVDs and videos we have here at the library. We have many Spanish language movies and telenovelas, but I considered the idea of heritage in a slightly different way. I chose some movies that focus on second and third generation Hispanic Americans and their lives and choices. These titles are well worth checking out.

 

Patrick Swayze (1952-2009)

I’ve mentioned growing up watching TV on a black & white set.  Well, one of the first shows I remember watching is Perry Mason.  (Yes, I’m old.  Not older than dirt.  Just as old as dirt.) Now I was very young and don’t recall if I really followed the storyline; but since the rest of my family was glued to the tube, I watched, too.  Hey, I was a kid of the 50s-60s.  It was TV.  I was gonna watch.

The Awesomeness of Color Movies

Last time I wrote about how much I love black & white movies and recommended a few titles. This time I’d like to talk about color movies. Because, yes, I love them, too.
