Lighting of the Lake

Kick off the holiday season with the first annual Lighting of the Lake set Monday, Nov. 30 at Lone Star College-CyFair.

Bring the family to celebrate the season with an LSC-CyFair Jazz Ensemble and LSC-CyFair Choir music performance, an LSC-CyFair Dance Team performance, as well as free food and photos with Santa, his sleigh and reindeer. This event will culminate with a synchronized lighting of the campus.

Join college staff and students from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for activities at the amphitheatre and surrounding areas on the Barker Cypress campus.

Space Images Unveiled - LIFE Workshop

satellite image Don't miss the Nov. 11 unveiling of two mural-sized prints of the Galactic Center of the Milky Way Galaxy at Lone Star College-CyFair Branch Library as part of the 2009 Great Observatories the International Year of Astronomy (IYA).

Join Rob Coyle, history professor and former NASA employee, for "Space Images Unveiled", Professor Coyle will share insights about the prints as well as the Hubble Telescope Program. The 6-foot by 3-foot prints will remain on permanently on display in the library.  LIFE Workshop, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 10-11am, LRNC 131.

striped tree imageIcons, Etc. is an icon/clipart gallery full of FREE images for personal or commerical use on the web, flyers, etc.  They do offer "premium" images that require a small fee, but there are so many free images available you won't need the others.  Check out some of my cool finds...
