pat o'briens in new orleansIt wasn't New Orleans, but don’t tell that to Scubie Hoyt, a piano bar maven, who led us in song and a rip-roaring good time.

"A vocalist and pianist [Ms. Hoyt] has performed at Pat O'Brien's in the New Orleans French Quarter for more than 25 years.  Known to many by the stage name "Scubie," Mrs. Hoyt plays by request and is accomplished in all types of music, from swing, jazz and blues to pop. She has appeared on the David Letterman Show. She's also played for celebrities such as Carol Channing, Whoopie Goldberg and Jim Nabors" -- Alabama Music Office

travel collageI discovered a new travel app a few weeks ago, TripIt, that takes all your travel reservations, confirmations, and more and creates an itinerary custom built for you.
