Free Holiday Craft!

Come one, come all to participate in a Holiday Greeting Card craft! 

Through the month of December, craft supplies will  be on hand in our Teen ("YA") Room for a free holiday craft. Just stop in any Monday through Friday between 2 pm - 5 pm to create up to two holiday greeting cards. Make a third card to donate to a local home for the elderly. All ages are welcome!

 

Art In the Forest

Kingwood area artists have a new venue for displaying their original art. The Kingwood Branch Library is now partnering with the Kingwood Art Society to present "Art In the Forest", an ongoing exhibit of paintings, pastels, and mixed media.  On your next visit to the library, be sure to check out the many items in our lobby display case as well as the second floor "gallery".  We guarantee you'll be impressed by the talent and creativity of your friends and neighbors!

HAAM Food Drive at the Kingwood Library

The Kingwood Library, in conjunction with HAAM, is making it convenient for patrons wanting to give during this busy holiday season.  Just look for the food donation receptacle in the library lobby to drop off your non-perishable items for needy families.  Volunteers from the Humble Area Assistance Ministries will be collecting the donations from now until the end of December. Hats off to HAAM!

Teen Read Week Winner Announced!

Congratulations to Cassidy, winner of our Teen Read Week contest!  Cassidy was one of several contestants who submitted original designs of book covers. She won a Barnes and Noble gift card, courtesy of F.O.L.K., with her cover design of Rick Riordan's The Son of Neptune. Teens are encouraged to enter next year's Teen Read Week contest.

Book Club celebrates National Native American Heritage Month

Come join our book club as we discuss I Heard the Owl Call My Name by Margaret Craven. This 70's classic tells the story of a young minister who learns about the meaning of life when he is sent to an Indian community in British Columbia. The discussion will take place on Monday, November 28 at 7 p.m. in the library meeting room.
