The Colorful Southwest of Peter Bowman

southwest

Peter Bowman does what many of us may only dream of doing with our retirement years: traveling around and taking print-worthy pictures of beautiful landscapes and people and sharing them with the world.  Mr. Bowman has enough mileage under his belt to legitimately call himself a travel photographer, but he is much more than that. He has an abiding interest in the landscapes of the Southwest.
Through the month of October, the library will be hosting an exhibit of photos Mr. Bowman calls “The Colorful Southwest.”  If you love the landscapes of the Southwest, or have an affinity for the canyon country, or just love great photography, come by and check out this wonderful display in our gallery.

Share Your Treasures!

collector

I am always interested, often amazed, and frequently delighted by the sheer variety of objects people collect as a hobby.  Seemingly everything from antique buttons, coins & stamps, butterflies & bugs, shells and zills (look that one up) is subject to the passion of the collector.
Do you have a treasured collection you would like the rest of the world to see?  The library has a wonderful lighted display case in our lobby where you can display your items and let other people enjoy your efforts and your enthusiasm - almost as much as you!

Self-taught Local Artist Danielle Zavala

Born May 8, 1984 in Houston, Texas, and raised by my loving parents Velma and Ruben.  I have two younger siblings, Jonathan and Nina.  I am currently a resident of Seabrook Texas with my beautiful daughter, Delilah, and my partner Chad.  I began drawing at the age of 12 years old by creating a mural on my bedroom wall, and art soon became my life’s passion.  I use pencil, pen, pastels, watercolors and acrylics to create pictures of anime, animals, the supernatural and oriental subjects.  I have no formal training…just the love of ART. -- Danielle Zavala

Our Friend's Book Store Has More Than Books!

coffee

Coffee Anyone?

Not only can you find great prices on gently used books in our beautiful Friend's Book Store. Now you can enjoy browsing with a cup of coffee as well. Thanks to a generous donation from a former Board member in memory of her husband, the Friends recently added a Keurig coffee machine, and that makes the Book Store even more fun to visit. At the going rate, you can buy a cup and still have money left over for books. Stop in and check it out!
