Save the date for the Friends booksale

Everyone gets busier as the holidays approach, so mark your calendar now so you won't miss out on the  upcoming booksale!  The booksale will be held on Saturday, Nov 13th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The members-only presale will be on Friday from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm.

Arrival of Fall

About a week ago I stepped outside, took a deep breath of air and thought, "Oh my gosh - it's fall!" It was sunny and warm out, the leaves haven't turned (in fact they probably won't till December) but the air had an indescribable yet distinct feel of Autumn. The sky was bright and glary, and had a look of fall.  This little touch of fall weather makes me homesick for Pennsylvania.  Fortunately for me the library has books on fall foliage for when I need to see those turning leaves.  One that I really like is called Colors of Fall; it brings home a little closer.

Looking for a Good Book

The Friends of the Maud Marks Library will  have  a booksale on Saturday, September 25th, from 10 am to 5pm. A members only preview will be held on Friday, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. There is always a great assortment of books to choose from. Nothing is priced over a dollar. If your watching your budget and want something new to read, come to the booksale for some great bargains.

Got Magazines?

Did you miss an issue of your favorite magazine?  Want to reread an article, or check out that   new recipe you might have seen in a magazine while waiting at  the dentists office? Well, your library has back issues of magazines that you can check out! Back issues of magazines check out for two weeks, giving you plenty of time to try those health and diet tips, or get some new decorating ideas.  We also have children and teen magazines available for checkout.
