Tuesday Craft

All kids are invited to join us September 23 for Pool Noodle Basketball at for our Tuesday Craft!  The program starts Monday at 4:30 pm.

New Volunteer Orientation

Need volunteer hours for school?  Want to help out your community?  Just think working at the library would be cool?  Come to our New Volunteer Orientation Monday, Sept. 8 at 6:30 pm.  All new volunteers must attend the orientation before volunteering.

Duct Tape Journals

Join us on Tuesday (Sept. 9) at 4:30 pm to create your very own Duct Tape Journal!  Kids ages 8-12 are welcome!

Eats & Treats Teen Baking Club

Come to Eats & Treats on Monday @ 4pm to make Banana Nut Bread.  All teens are welcome and will get to eat some of what they made!  

Who Am I? Teen Contest Winner!

 

Congratulations to the winner of our teen Who Am I? Contest: Kaylie Reynolds!  Kaylie was one of five teens who correctly identified 15 scientists from biographic clues.  After a random drawing she won the $50 gift card to Fandango.com, a movie ticket website.  Congratulations to everyone who entered!

Whovian Whoopla!

The Tardis is landing one more time this summer at Katherine Tyra.
The new season of Doctor Who starts August 23rd. This Monday, August 18th, join us at 4 pm to say goodbye to Matt Smith and hello to Peter Capaldi with Whovian themed foods.

Robotics!

Have an interest in Robotics? We have a representative from the Houston Area League of PC users coming out to teach a workshop. This program is for teens 12-18.

Ice Cream Float Party!

Everyone is welcome to our Ice Cream Float Party on Monday at 3 pm.  This will be a ticketed event, so come at 2 pm to pick up your tickets.  We will be watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Secret of the Ooze while enjoying our floats.

Mini-Comicon!

In celebration of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie release Aug. 1 our teen time will be turning into a mini-comicon this Monday @ 3.    Crafts, trivia and general geekiness will abound.  All teens 12-18 are welcome.

Do You Want to Write A Fanfic?

This Monday at 3pm, teens 12-18 are invited to discover the wonderful world of Fan Fiction. We will be writing drabbles, fictional news articles, and generally playing around in our favorite fictional worlds and pretending the stories never ended. Fans of any video game, TV show, book/movie series, cartoon, anime, manga, etc. are welcome.
