ESL Tutor Training

ESL tutoringThe library is offering a training class for volunteers interested in tutoring immigrants in English on Saturday, January 22 from 9am to 3pm. No experience is needed and it is not necessary to speak another language. We need volunteers who are fluent in English and would be willing to share a few hours a week to help someone learn or improve their English.

Readers Choose Best in Romance

Devil in WinterAll About Romance, one of my favorite romance websites, just released an updated list of the 100 best romance novels. The books were chosen by romance readers, and include everything from the classic romances of Jane Austen to the paranormal romances of J.R. Ward and Kresley Cole. The author with the most books included, Lisa Kleypas, has an amazing 15 books on the list; first runner up, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, has 9. There's Something About Jane

Whether it’s a new film based on one of her novels or a new adaptation that adds zombie violence to a comedy of manners, the six novels she wrote are constantly being adapted and reinvented. I’m constantly on the lookout for authors with a similar style or who can write a good sequel to one of her existing novels. While there’s no one quite like Jane, some of these authors come pretty close so check them out!
