It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

St. Mary's at nightReading Linda’s last post on tortured heroes made me think of one of my favorite types of romance, the gothic. Stories of tortured men with mysterious pasts and the women who love them have fascinated me since I read Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights when I was younger. The gothic romance has been around since the 18th century, and writers continue to use gothic elements in their novels today.
