Hey, teens, don't forget to vote!  Here's another friendly reminder: On the tables up in The Hideout are slips for you to fill out that will let us know how we can schedule programs with you in mind.  We've planned at least one per month, and the sooner we know what works for you, the better!  Swing by as soon as you can and give us your vote!

Blood Drive

The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will be on site in the Community Room on Monday, August 30th, from 1:00 to 5:30 PM to received blood donations from the public.  Walk-ins are accepted, but it is encouarged to sign up ahead of time for an appointment at either the reference or children's desks or at the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center webiste here.  The entire process takes 35 to 40 minutes, and this year qualified donors may be eligible for a gift card!  Don't miss out on this opportunity to give the gift of life!

The summer is finishing up, and school is around the corner.  But that doesn't mean, teens, that there won't be plenty for you to do here at the library!  We still have some great activities planned, but we'd like to know the best days and times for you.  On the tables up in The Hideout are slips for you to fill out that will let us know how we can schedule programs with you in mind.  We've planned at least one per month, and the sooner we know what works for you, the better!  So, swing by as soon as you can and give us your vote!

Identity Theft and "How the Fed Works"

In our increasingly digital world, identity theft is a very real and present problem.  Join us this Saturday, August 21st, at 1:00 PM in the Community Room for a program presented by Max Anderson, an expert in the field of identity theft.  Come learn about the seriousness of identity theft, six types of identity theft, and steps you can take to protect yourself. 

After that, don't miss Monday, August 23rd, at 7:00 PM for a repeat presenter, Alberto Antenangeli, as he comes to discuss "How the Fed Works."  Mr. Antenangeli will discuss financial markets, monetary theory and policy, and will focus generally on how the federal reserve functions.  Don't miss either of these free and informative programs!
