Scratch-Art Picture Frames for April "Adult Crafts to Go!"

The Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library invites you to pick up the April “Adult Crafts to Go” project beginning Friday, April 1st. The project for April is a “Scratch-Art Picture Frame.” This program, supported by the Friends of Freeman, features simple craft projects which may be picked up at the second floor Information Desk. These projects can be taken anywhere and made anywhere. These kits are available while supplies last. Understanding Your Medications @ Your Library

 The Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library  and the University of Houston - Clear Lake invite adults of all ages to under50over this Friday, April 1st  at 10:30 am. We look forward to a presentation from Jeff Sherer, Pharm.D., called “Understanding Your Medications And Their Effect.”   

This presentation will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor of the library. Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

Fridays in April @ your library

The Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library anticipates Fridays as it continues the under50over Program in April  2011. The schedule of events for April is to the right.* In April ,  under50over will host presentations on understanding medications, personal safety, and Rachel Carson. At the end of the month, we will have a Movie Day. 

Movie Day @ your library

Adults of all ages are invited to come to the under50over Movie Day this Friday. The title is to be announced and the movie will start at 10:15 am. Movie Day will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor of the library. Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

Girl Scout IP:EJ! "Eco-Action" Opens on 3/18

The Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library is offering the continuation of the Girl Scout “Interest Project: Exploration Journeys!” program on Monday, April 18th at 5:00 pm. The workshop will feature work towards the “Eco-Action”Interest Project as well as some of the Journey Assets. Participants will meet in the Marge Jacobson Community Room.  Light refreshments provided by Friends of Freeman. The workshop is free but registration is required.

The under50over Program invites adults of all ages to under50over this Friday, March 18th at 10:30 am. We look forward to a presentation from Toni King; popular author of Medicare and Health Insurance Survival Guide. She will talk about the “ABC’s of Medicare; The Drug Plan and How to Avoid the Donut Hole.” She will be available to answer questions during the program.This presentation will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor of the library. Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

"Beneficial And Destructive Insects In The Garden" Discussion this Friday

The under50over Program invites adults of all ages to under50over this Friday, March 11th at 10:30 am. We look forward to Master Gardener Donya Camp’s discussion on “Beneficial And Destructive Insects In The Garden.” Ms. Camp will present a power-point and bring examples of insects for us to see. This presentation will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor of the library. Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

In honor of Texas’ 175th birthday on March 2nd, we are making Lone Star Lapel Pins. This program, supported by the Friends of Freeman, features simple craft projects which may be picked up at the second floor Information Desk. These projects can be taken anywhere and made anywhere. The schedule of events for March is to the right.* In March, under50over will host presentations on the Galveston County Museum Collection, Beneficial and Destructive Insects in the Garden, and the “ABC’s of Medicare” & “The Drug Plan: How to Avoid the Donut Hole.” At the end of the month, we will have a Movie Day. 

All programs except for Movie Day start at 10:30 am each Friday morning. On Movie Days, under50over begins promptly at 10:15 am. Movie Days usually take place on the last Friday of the month. Programs normally take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor.
