Under 50 Over for Summer 2011

The Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library anticipates Fridays as it continues the under50over Program in Summer 2011. The schedule of events for Summer 2011 is to the left.* In the Summers, under50over will present a Technology Petting Zoo, Scrapbooking, and Movies.

All programs except for Movie Day start at 10:30 am each Friday morning. On Movie Days, under50over begins starts at 10:15 am. Programs normally take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor. The light refreshments are compliments of the Friends of Freeman.

Movie Day This Friday @ Your Library

Adults of all ages are invited to come to the under50over Movie Day this Friday. The title is to be announced and the movie will start at 10:15 am. Movie Day will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor of the library. Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

Joint and Bone Health Presentation @ Your Library

Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library’s Under 50Over Program invites you to join us Friday, May 20th at 10:30 am for a presentation by Dr Prashanth Sunkureddi on bone and joint health. The program will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room which can be found on the first floor.

Can You Hear Me Now? - Friday @ your library

Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library’s Under 50Over Program invites you to join us Friday, May 13th at 10:30 am for a presentation on hearing and hearing aids. Doctors Joel Berman and Caroline Yoon, specialists in Audiology and Board Certified in Head and Neck Surgery will discuss hearing problems and answer questions. The program will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room which can be found on the first floor.

Estate Planning Advice @ Freeman Library

Join us Wednesday, May 11th at 6:30 p.m. in the Marge Jacobson Community Room for a presentation on estate planning by Dean Shearer, board certified estate attorney.  This presentation is part of the retirement planning workshop series offered by MWA Advisors, Inc. with support from NAPFA Consumer Education Foundation.  This is the last session before the summer break, so put it on your calendar now!

Letters of John and Abigail Adams Dramatized

Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library's Under 50Over Program and the University of Houston-Clear Lake invite you to join us Friday May 6th at 10:30 am  for a dramatic reading of “My Beloved Friend: The Letters of Abigail and John Adams.”  It will be presented by Nancy and Walt Hansen and narrated by Betty Crockford.  The program will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room which can be found on the first floor of the building.

Freeman's "Adult Crafts-to-Go!" recognizes Asian Pacific Heritage Month

The Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library will offer the continuation of the “Crafts- to-Go!” program Monday, May 2, 2011 in recognition of Asian Pacific  Heritage Month.  The Craft for May is an East Asian inspired paper lantern. This project can be made at the library or at home. All materials needed to make the lantern are included within the bag, compliments of the Friends of Freeman Library. They will be available while supplies last.

Fridays in May @ your library

At the end of the month, we will have a Movie Day. 

When Silence Isn't Golden: The Life of Rachel Carson @ Your Library

The Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library's under50over  Program invites you to join us Friday, April 15th at 10:30 am in the Community Room to learn about Rachel Carson, writer, ecologist and scientist.  Jorie Nissen, Reference Librarian at Freeman Branch Library will present this program about this well known author.
