TGIF Programs Celebrates Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month This Friday!

TGIF Programs will show be showing a film in honor of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month on Friday, May 09 at 10:30 AM in the Marge Jacobson Community Room. In this animated 1967 film, Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a difficult time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization.

Turtle Picture Frame - Adult Crafts-to-Go!

Beginning Tuesday, May 6th,  the Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library’s Adult “Crafts-to-Go!” program will make the “Turtle Picture Frame” project available at the 2nd Floor Reference Desk. All materials and instructions necessary for making the “Turtle Picture Frame” are in the bag. These materials are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library, available while supplies last.

Trivia Express Film Series - Module #6 - Monday May 5!

For Module #6, we will be showing on Monday, May 5 at 6:15 PM a 1967 animated feature. In it, Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a difficult time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization. This film is based on the Rudyard Kipling classic. Snacks are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

The Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library is pleased to announce its events for Adults this May.  We will continue with TGIF Programs, various book clubs (mystery, great books, two science fiction/fantasy clubs, and YA Book Club for Adults (online)), Freeman Needlecrafters, Adult Crafts to Go, Clear Lake Area Writers (CLAW), SCORE Counseling, and Creator Space.

TGIF Programs Friday Film Series - This Friday

The Friday Film Series continues on Friday, April 11 at 10:15 AM in the Marge Jacobson Community Room. We will be viewing a 1999 film which tells the true story of Homer Hickam, a coal miner's son who was inspired by the first Sputnik launch to take up rocketry against his father's wishes. This film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Laura Dern.
