Mad about Mad Men @ Your Library

 Are you mad about Mad Men, that show about ad execs. in the early 1960s? At Freeman, one of our displays exhibits a number of books popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

In last Friday's under50over  Program, the University of Houston Clear Lake and Freeman Branch Library invited James C. Benson Ph.D to speak. Mr. Benson spoke about "Commonly Asked Questions About the Texas Probate System."

This Friday, we look forward to the Clear Lake Museum's presentation "From Indians to Astronauts; including a history of the Clear Lake Museum." Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Crafts-to-Go!

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Starting Monday, May 3rd, the Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library will offer the Adult “Crafts- to-Go!” program. Adult "Crafts-to-Go!" will feature a simple craft project which adults can request at the second floor Information Desk. This project can be made at the library or at home. Fridays @ Your Library

 The library invites adults of all ages to the under50over Program which takes place on Fridays. 

Today, local author Mary Sue Anton presented "New Madrid: A Mississippi River Town in History and Legend." She discussed how to distinguish between fact and fiction in regards to New Madrid.

This Friday, the library invites adults of all ages to the under50over Program. On Friday, April 16th, Melanie Marshall, Community Service Representative for Home Instead Senor Care, will talk to us about “Preparation For Your Future As Seniors and the Options You Have.” If you have any questions, please visit us or give us a call.

This month, the library invites adults of all ages to the under50over Programs.  On Friday, April 9th, we look forward to the presentation of "Community Emergency Response Team: Your Community, What's So Special?" by Mardie Menke, Harris County CERT Coordinator. This is a joint program by Freeman Branch Library and University of Houston-Clear Lake. April under 50 over

Last week, attendees of the under50over Programs enjoyed watching a movie as well as the coffee and snacks provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. 

The library will be closed this coming Friday, April 2nd, as well as Sunday, April 4th, in observance of the upcoming holidays. Girl Scout IP:E! - Women through Time workshop

The Girl Scout Interest Project: Exploration! program presented the "Women through Time" workshop this past Monday. Meredith Layton, the Young Adult Librarian, talked to the group about women's contributions to the visual arts as well as her background in Women's Studies and Art History. I (Jorie) talked about the founder of the Girl Scouts of America, Juliette Gordon Low.

This Friday @ your library

Last week, we enjoyed the joint program with Rosenberg Library, Galveston, TX and the Galveston Reads program. Poom Sunhachawi-Taylor of Rosenberg Library talked about Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam, Jr.

This coming Friday, March 26th, we will be seeing a movie, title to be announced. The movie starts at 10:15 am. Coffee and snacks are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.
