One Day Only! Holiday Book Event

The Friends of the Library will expand the Lobby Books into the large meeting room on Saturday, December 5th from 10 am to 4:30 pm.  The display will feature gift quality books.  Look for classics, children's, novels, World War II, cookbooks, history, craft, art, religion, sports and stocking stuffers.

Donate Gently Used Books

Cleaning house for the holidays?  Consider donating books, dvd's, and cd's to the Friends of the Library.  You get a gift receipt, your items get a new home and the Friends raise money to benefit your local library.  Welcomed are adult and children's items, paperbacks and hardbacks.  (Exceptions are textbooks, magazines and encyclopedias.)  For more information call the library, 713-464-1633.

Ann Thompson previewed Richard Wagner's Lohengrin on October 26.  The Houston Grand Opera production opens October 30th. 

Adult Summer Reading Winner

Nina Rach was chosen the adult summer reading winner by a random drawing.  Mrs. Rach enjoys reading with her children and encourages literacy for all.

 Hurricane Season is now!  Procedures for hurricane safety will be presented by the Office of Emergency Management on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at 3:00 pm.  Question and answer period to follow.
