Ann Thompson will present an opera preview on Monday, Oct. 25, 7pm. She will introduce Puccini's MadamaButterfly and Britten's Peter Grimes. These operas will be profomed by the Houston Grand Opera beginning October 22 and October 29 respectively. Join us for this free programs.

Have you noticed that you can now access Value Line from you home computer? If you are researching stocks you can go into the the databases from the HCPL home page and then into business section. There you can find Value Line and access it by using your library card. Tracking your investments has never been easier.

Title to be discussed: The Optimist's Daughter, by Eudora Weltly. Date of meeting: Tuesday, October 12, 6:30pm. Summary: This compact, partially autobiographical novel is set in Mississippi. It explores family bonds and the relationship between love and grief. This is a Pulitzer Prize winner.
