Summer is almost here!!  This summer we’ll once again have a Teen Summer Reading Program for teens 12-18, or those entering grades 6-12 in the fall.  Teens can register and log their books/minutes online at www.hcpl.net.  When teens have read/listened to 5 books/600 minutes they will receive a pair of Spark a Reaction earbuds*; at 10 books/1200 minutes, they will receive a book*!  AND for every book/120 minutes past 10 books/1200 minutes they will receive an entry to place in one of six prize pack drawings!  Teens can also earn prize pack drawings by attending programs throughout the summer. You do not need to register for the Summer Reading Program to attend programs.  Check out our teen summer schedule below! 

TEENS: Afternoon of Anime – May 21st @ 4:30pm

TAG LogoLooking to help out the library?  Want to earn community service hours?  Need something else to put on college and scholarship applications?  Check out TAG, the Kingwood Library’s Teen Advisory Group.  This meeting meets the 4th Monday of each month during the school year at 6:30pm for an hour to help brainstorm ideas, prepare for programs, and come up with awesome library displays.  This group is open to all teens and tween ages 12-18 or in grades 6-12.  This month’s program will take place Monday, April 28th in the Teen Area; this will be our last meeting until August.  Questions?  Contact Leanne, YA Librarian, 281-360-6804.  You can also email her by clicking here.

islan sunto take our Summer Reading Prize Pack Survey!   Summer is quickly approaching (yay!), and we’re busy planning some wicked awesome programs and prizes for all the Kingwood Teens.  So let your voice be heard!  Take our Summer Reading Prize Pack survey online by clicking here, or stop by the Teen Area to fill out a form. 

Entries into the Prize Pack Drawings can be earned by attending programs, and for every book over 5 books that you read this summer.  You must be registered with the Summer Reading Program to earn entries for books read; you do not need to register or complete the Summer Reading Program to earn program attendance entries. 

Tango and Tchaikovsky: The Houston Symphony at Discovery Green - April 22nd

logoTuesday, April 22 at 4:30 PM: Tango and Tchaikovsky: The Houston Symphony at Discovery Green is part of Precinct 4 Fun for Seniors excursions. Enjoy this this tango-inspired birthday celebration with free wine tasting, tango lessons, and the Houston Symphony performing Astor Pizzolla's Estaciones Porteñas and Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings. The cost is FREE with dinner on your own at Discovery Green's Lake House Restaurant. The trip will return to Kingwood Branch Library at 10:00 PM.
