Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell beat 15 other awesome YA titles to crowned the first winner of the Kingwood Branch Library’s March Madness:  YA Book Bracket!  Thanks to everyone who participated!  Can’t wait to see who next year’s champion will be!

 

Adult Crafternoon: Friday, April 11th @ 2:30pm

vasesCelebrate Spring with an Adult Crafternoon on Friday, April 11th at 2:30 PM! This month's meeting we will be making decorative vases. Create a decorative vase to show off your spring flowers in.

Adult Crafternoon meets monthly on the 2nd Friday at 2:30 PM. It is free to attend and open to ages 18 and over. Supplies are provided courtesy of FOLK and are limited to 8 participants. Celebrate National Poetry Month with Blackout Poetry

 

Tuesday, April 1st @ 4:30pm teens and tweens ages 12-18, or in grades 6-12, are welcome to join us as we celebrate National Poetry Month with a Blackout or Found Poetry program.  Blackout or Found Poetry uses discard book pages, newspapers, or magazine articles to create poems.  All materials will be provided by FOLK; supplies are limited.  For more information, please contact Leanne, YA Librarian, by phone, 281-360-6804 or email by clicking here.
 

TAG - March 24 @ 6:30pm, Teen Area

TAGThe school year is starting to wind down, but there is still plenty of good to be done by joining TAG.  TAG meets the 4th Monday of every month during the school year at 6:30pm to help brainstorm ideas and help prepare programs.  It’s a great addition to any college, scholarship, and/or job application.  This month's program will take place Monday, March 24th @ 6:30pm.  Questions?  Contact Leanne, YA Librarian, 281-360-6804 for more information.

Round 2 of our March Madness: YA Book Bracket will be available in the Kingwood Library's Teen Area  this afternoon once the votes from Round 1 have been tallied.  See which titles made it into the second round and who got left behind!  Vote for your favorites and see who moves up the bracket to the championship matchup.  There will be 4 rounds including the Championship matchup.  Round 2 will last until Saturday, March 22.   You can vote in the Teen Area or online by clicking here.  Ask Leanne, YA Librarian, 281-360-6804 for more information.

Are you a manga or anime fanatic?  Toshokan Tuesday is a monthly meetup for fans in grades 6-12 or ages 12-18.  Each month we chat about manga and anime we are reading and watching, hypothetical character matchups, and ideas for new anime and manga.  Sometimes we do a craft and have Japanese snacks.  For more information, contact Leanne, YA Librarian, 281-360-6804
