Teen Time: Game Day

The Summer Reading Program is almost ending. We will be speeding towards the finish line with a thrilling car racing video game Monday, July 29th at 3:00 pm in the Public Meeting Room. So bring your friends and see how fast you can go. This program is recommended for teens 12-18 years. 

Ms. Frizzle's Extraordinary Bees

Come meet our favorite teacher, Ms. Frizzle, from the book series “The Magic School Bus” this Thursday, July 24th at 3:00 pm in the Public Meeting Room. She will be taking us on a magic adventure to the wonderful world of bees. Come explore what it is like inside a beehive and the amazing job bees do. Hope to see you there!

Do you like science and candy? Then you are ready to become a science food expert! Join us Monday, July 21st in the Public Meeting Room for our delicious Food Science Lab and experiment creating molecules, DNA strands and edible soil. Hope to see you there!!

Trees For Houston @ Your Library

Do you want to help the planet? Then join us this Thursday, July 17th at 3:00 PM in the Public Meeting Room for a down to earth program. Trees for Houston will be showing us how important it is to plant and protect trees in our environment. We are going to have fun planting seeds and helping our planet.  

Jungle Jim's Wild Encounters is Here!

Have you ever seen a millipede? Well, now is your chance to see the largest millipede ever recorded. Jungle Jim will be here with his traveling exhibit of preserved specimens and his Guinness World Records winning millipede. So come join us this Thursday, July 10th at 3:00 pm in the Alvin D.

Teen Time: Solar Photography

Teens do you want to take pictures but don’t have a camera? Not to worry, we will be using the sun to develop our prints. Come and create spectacular photographs using different objects this Monday, July 7th at 3:00 pm in the Public Meeting Room. This program is design for teenagers 12 to 18. Hope to see you there!  

Engineering Workshop


Have you ever wanted to construct incredible buildings? Now is your chance! Come build your extraordinary structures this Thursday, July 3rd at 3:00pm in the Public Meeting Room of the library. There will be different materials to choose from, so come build with us and see if you can defy gravity. Hope to see you there!

Marble Mazes

Do you love puzzles or mazes? Then come join us for a fun brain bending experiment! We will be creating our very own marble mazes and putting them to the test this Thursday, June 26th at 3 pm in the Public Meeting Room.  Let’s see how challenging you can make yours. 

Teen Time: Steampunk Jewelry Making

Love steampunk jewelry but don’t know how to make it? Then come join us on Monday, June 23rd at 3:00 pm in the public meeting room for our Teen Time Summer Program. We will submerge ourselves into the world of steampunk and create extraordinary pieces of jewelry. This program is recommended for teenagers 12 to 18 years old. All materials will be provided while supplies last. 

Save Our Spaceship

Do you know what animals are considered endangered? Would you like to help save these animals and their environments? Then come join us at the Alvin D. Baggette Community Center this Thursday, June 19th at 3 pm, a Traveling Naturalist will be talking about some possible solutions to the threats that these animals come across in the wild and what we can do to help them. She will also bring some animals for us to meet.
