2nd annual day out

The Aldine Library staff celebrated its 2nd annual day out on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day '10 by paying a visit to the Toyota Center to watch the Rockets take on the Milwaukee Bucks. The staff enjoyed an exciting game and an energetic halftime performance by Fantasia.

The opening of doors

The Aldine Library served as a warming center for the Greenspoint community on Friday, January 8th and Saturday, January 9th, 2010. The library opened at 9 AM on both days to provide shelter for those wishing to escape the freezing temperatures. Aldine library was fully operational with reference assistance, Internet access, and checkout of materials.

A crew from channel 45 Univision came to interview library staff and patrons on Friday, January 8th. The interviews were featured on the evening news at 10 PM.

During the summer of 2009, the Aldine Library served as a cooling center for the community. The library was open longer hours to provide shelter from the heat.
