Enable the Coffee Table

I have always enjoyed coffee table books. There's something special about those heavy, oversize titles that catches the eye and peaks the interest.

The Aldine library has many coffee table books available for checkout.

Nuestra colección en español

When it comes to the Spanish language, HCPL is covered. All Harris County branch locations have Spanish-language items available to customers for checkout.
The Aldine Library has the honor of having the largest collection of Spanish language books and materials in the library system. Stop by and take a look at our assortment of Spanish language books for children and adults in addition to our collection of audiovisual materials. We are always adding to our Spanish language collection.

Registration Celebration

The Aldine Library placed third in overall registration for Readernation- the Adult Summer Reading Program during summer 2009. This year, ALD had 256 adult registrants (this does not include staff) compared with 34 adult registrants in 2008.  This is a 653% increase over 2008 registration figures! Good work, Aldine Library staff.

Different Voices in Our Choices

The Aldine Library staff have chosen 10 books to put on display in the book display case in the branch lobby. First Things First, by Kurt and Brenda Warner, explores the formula for success for these parents of seven who are going into their 12th year of marriage.

Dedication Elation

Library staff & customers, clergy, and YMCA representatives were on hand at the Aldine Library to dedicate crape myrtle trees and Aztec grass on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 15th. The celebration, which kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month 2009 at the Aldine Branch Library, began with introductory remarks and a short speech by Ms. Claudia Sanchez of the YMCA. Father Giantonio Baggio then led the attendees in prayer before blessing the trees and the library building.

Amore for L'Amour

booksAldine Library's patrons expressed an interest in suspense, African-American authors, westerns, and romance during August 2009. A scan of the top 4 circulating fiction titles for the month shows a tie in each position. The top spot fell to Basketball Jones by E.

Thanks for the Trees! | ¡Gracias por los Árboles!

Come join us we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by dedicating newly planted crape myrtle trees that the YMCA generously donated!  Light refreshments will be served.

¡Celebramos el Mes de la hispanidad por dedicar árboles que fueron plantados recientemente! El YMCA generosamente donó los árboles. Refrecos serán servidos.
