CELEBRATING 10 YEARS!

Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm the staff and Friends of the La Porte Community Library had a celebration to commemorate 10 years of service in what is still referred to as the “new building.” Surrounded by turquoise and silver decorations, customers were treated to delicious cake, coffee and punch.

The celebration continued throughout the afternoon with cookies for all the school children who come to the library each day after school.

Just go to the (For ) Kids subject area. There you will find links to Searchasaurus  which includes a dictionary, an encyclopedia, and picture source. This particular database is aimed at Grades 3-6.  Enjoy exploring this database.

ANOTHER GREAT SUMMER IN THE BOOKS

Another summer full of entertaining and educational crafts and programming has come to a close. We want to give a big thank you to the Friends of La Porte Library for their financial support for all our summer activities. These dedicated people give of themselves weekly to ready the donated books for sale.

With budgets as stretched as they are, it is the Friends membership dues, donations, and book sales that allow us to provide a richer summer for all our children and teens.
