Thank You, Maud Marks Patrons!

The Maud Marks Library believes we have the best customers!  We would like to thank everyone in the Katy area for their generosity this holiday season.  On December 4th, we partnered with ABC 13 and Katy Christian Ministries for the annual Share Your Holidays food drive.  We are pleased to announce that despite the snow and our early closure, (we closed at 2 PM) the Maud Marks Library doubled the amount of food collected during our 2008 food drive.

The annual Toys for Tots drive also collected more toys than usual.  You, our customers, filled our big toy box over 3 times with toys for children of all ages.

The Maud Marks Library would like to thank you for your generosity during this 2009 holiday season.  We are grateful for all you do to keep our community a wonderful place to live and work.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

The holidays have arrived!  We are here, smack-dab in the middle of Chanukah and Christmas is just ten days away.  Come to the library to celebrate in style.

At the Maud Marks Library, we have 2 special holiday parties coming up this week as we prepare for the holiday vacation.  Seniors and mature adults are invited to join us for our first (but not last) annual Senior Moments Holiday Party on Thursday, December 17 at 1 PM.  Come play Wii and join us for holiday snacks and music.  Teens can join us this Saturday, December 19 at 12:30 PM for our annual Teen Holiday party.  We will be watching a mystery movie, so secret we can't even print the name here, making holiday crafts and eating holiday treats.

Paying no taxes?

O.K. we've probably all seen the book How to Pay Zero Taxes by Jeff Schnepper.  But, what do you do if the latest copy is checked out from your local library?

The Maud Marks Library will be hosting a program about End-of-Year Tax Tips on Thursday, December 10 at 6:30 PM.  Janet Montgomery, a representative from First Allied Securities, will be here to give tips on how to reduce your over all taxes for 2009.  Get tips to improve your tax return more than you could ever imagine.  Find out what you can do before it is too late.
