USA LEGO Robotics Camp returns to Freeman Library in September

There will be another four week session of the USA LEGO Robotics Camp at Freeman Library starting Saturday, September 29 and running for the four Saturdays through October 20.  This free camp is recommended for children 7-11 years old.  It uses LEGO projects to introduce robotics, engineering, mathematics, and technology concepts to children.  This camp is sponsored by United Space Alliance (USA)  and Friends of Freeman Library.  There will be two seatings of the camp each week: 1-2:30 pm and 3-4:30 pm.

Some changes coming to morning storytimes in September

Starting Tuesday, September 4 - the Book Babies and Toddler Time schedules will change for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Instead of a Book Babies and a Toddler Time each morning, we now will have two back-to-back Toddler Time programs on Tuesdays (10:15 am & 11:15 am) and two back-to-back Book Babies programs on Wednesdays (10:15 am & 11:15 am).  The other storytimes will remain the same: we will have Toddler Time on Mondays at 11:15 am and Preschool Storytime on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 1:30 pm.

You have 3 1/2 weeks to Get a Clue at the Library!

The 2012 Summer Reading Program ends on Saturday, August 11.  We now have about 3 1/2 weeks left to finish up reading!    But don't worry, there's still time to sign up.  There is a Summer Reading Program for all ages - from infants through adults.

Tween Beginning Knitting Class starts July 20

We'll be registering for a drawing for spaces for a new session of the Tween Beginning Knitting Class.  The class is for children 9-12 years old.  The class will be held on Fridays July 20, 27 and August 3 and 10 from 10:15-11:15 am.  Participants are expected to attend all four weeks.

Due to space limitations, we will be holding a registration for a drawing for spaces in the class.  The registration starts today (July 2) and runs for a week through July 9.  Just fill out a registration form at the Kids Information Desk.  The children whose names are drawn will be notified by July 11.  For questions, please contact the Children's Department at 281-488-1906.
