Valentine's Day Storytimes

Get ready for Valentine's Day by joining us for Valentine's Day themed storytimes this week.  The Toddler Time, Preschool, and Family Night programs will all feature Valentine's Day stories and a craft.  So you can celebrate Valentine's Day to your heart's content.

Also, you still have a few more days to show how much you love Texas libraries.  We have cards that you can fill out to let your state representative know your library love story.  The cards will be collected through Thursday, February 10.

Storybook Opera coming in February

Children and families are in for a treat in February when Houston Grand Opera brings two Storybook Opera programs to Freeman Library.  These programs are designed for children of kindergarten through second grade age.  They use music to tell the stories behind two favorite storybooks: Opera Cat by Tess Weaver and Westward Ho, Carlotta by Candace Fleming.

The first program will be Opera Cat on Tuesday, February 1 at 1:30 pm.  Opera Cat is the story of a cat named Alma who loves to sing.  Alma takes center stage on opening night after her mistress, Madame Soso, comes down with laryngitis.
