Let's geaux to a Mardi Gras parade!

Mardi Gras is February 12 this year.  There will be lots of fun parades and other events in Kemah, Galveston and other parts over the next two weekends.  If you can't make it to any of the parades, stop by the Children's Department to see the Krewe of Freeman.  We have 22 shoebox floats decorated by children and adults who recently attended an afterschool program.    The library provided shoeboxes, decorating materials, and lots of glue while the children provided their imagination.   The shoebox floats will be on display behind the Kids Information Desk through Mardi Gras on February 12.  The children who decorated the floats can pick them up starting February 13 and take them home to keep.
