See You at the Art Car Parade

Aldine's Fish Book CartSunday is the big day of the Houston Art Car Parade. Once again the Aldine branch will be there along with other HCPL branches. The parade runs from 1pm-3pm, so that gives you plenty of time to stop by our tent in the morning. You can see our cool art book carts up-close, participate in a craft, or even register for a library card! If you can't make it, then don't worry. We'll be tweeting the whole time. We're excited and hope to see you there!

With the final stretch of school in progress and the Summer Reading Program (SRP) just around the corner Anime For Youth will be meeting for the last time tomorrow, May 5th, from 3:30PM to 4:30PM. Don't worry though because the club plans to start up again once SRP ends.

The club will mark this final meeting by celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. All are welcome to visit, while Ryan shares his experiences of living over in Japan. Come see his pictures, listen to his stories, and ask him any questions that you may have.

The group consists of Texas writers and illustrators, who have come together to promote reading to all ages and I must say that it was fun to answer their questions.
